040: Barrovian Hustle ENDGAME

End of the month Review Show

We are back to business as usual! After a month of detailed work on a large podcast project we are planning to release soon, we return to our classic end of month movie review show.

This month Jeff and regular contributor Lucy discuss “strong female leads” in movies based on the books of Stephen King.

We review Avengers Endgame with friend of the pod Phil Foster. The Tolkien biopic, imaginatively titled “Tolkien” and the much maligned comedy “The Hustle”.

We end on our ‘What else have we been watching” feature where we talk about Rocketman, Beast, The Curse of La Llorona, Game of Thrones, The Wandering Earth and a radio version of 70’s British TV classic ‘Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads?’!

As we have an in depth discussion on Stephen King’s Carrie we thought it would be interesting to link to youtube for the two trailers for Carrie

Carrie 1976

Carrie 2013

We also compared and contrasted The Hustle with the movie Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Here are the trailers for those two iconic movies.
